JFK had lunch at the home of influential journalist Joe Alsop at 1:00 pm. Alsop, one of JFK’s many closeted homosexual friends, was the writer who coined the term “domino theory” when describing international relations.

In the evening, Kennedy traveled to 3312 Woodley Road for a reception in the honor of Viet Nam from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
